Leah Lentz is a journalism intern at Capitol Weekly, reporting on California politics and government. She spent three semesters with the Express including two as editor in chief. Leah is passionate about covering state politics and sharing people's stories through profiles and feature writing. 

 

She has been drawn to journalism since she was young. Some of her fondest memories from her childhood are opening the Sacramento Bee every morning to check out the sports page. After the 2016 presidential election, she grew interested in journalism’s impact on politics. She hopes to bring her passion for finding the truth to her pursuit of a career in journalism.
